Description
Camiel is a unisex handbag and the result of a collaboration between architect Camiel van Noten and Lies Mertens. This large shopper has a separate compartment for laptops and we created adjustable straps.
It was the first interdisciplinary experiment Lies Mertens performed, basing the lining of the design on interior objects Camiel van Noten created out of a mixture of acrylic and gypsum.

Main material: 100% MycaNova® vegan leather
Interior: Kaki canvas lining
MycaNova® is a product of Citribel, a Belgian company specialised in the production of citric acid. Just like animal leather, MycaNova® is elastic, sturdy, wear-resistant, scratch-resistant and tactile. But also rainproof and fully customisable in colour and texture. In every square meter of MycaNova®, 20 to 60 grams of plastic is replaced with mycelium. We are proud to be the first Belgian brand to launch a product made from this innovative Belgian biomaterial.
